Meet The Team

Sean Franklin

⦁ Sean Franklin holds a B.S. degree in Aerospace Science and Engineering from UC Davis and a commercial FAA part 107 sUAS pilot license. He is the co-owner of J&S Drone Solution, a company specializing in mapping, land survey, and topography using drone technology. He had worked as a UAV Flight Officer and a Mechatronics Specialist at college. He also worked as a Research Intern at UC Davis Cyber-Human Physical System Lab using Drone technology to acquire aerial data.

Jason Wilkes

⦁ Jason Wilkes is a US Navy veteran holding several certifications from Navy Aviation structural mechanic environmental school. During his service, he worked as a jet mechanic in VFA-137, working on the F/A-18 Hornet. He is the co-owner of J&S Drone Solution with a commercial FAA part 107 sUAS pilot certification. Since 2018, he has been working as a Drone Pilot Officer at college, helping develop the drone training program.

Shane Lipscomb

⦁ Shane Lipscomb is an Adjunct Professor of Design Technology and serves as the Drone Operations Coordinator at American River College. He holds FAA Certificated UAS (drone) Operator License. He is a US Army veteran and was a Helicopter Mechanic during his service.

Michael Young

⦁ Michael Young, Ph.D., is an experimental high energy physicist and a college professor specified in scientific experiment data analysis, and financial/social media data algorithm development.
